What this site is not (or: time for the disclaimers!)

Yes, I'm a lawyer, but my musings about the law that appear on this site are not meant to provide legal information that readers can use to solve their legal problems and answer their legal questions. If I write about something law-related on this weblog, I'm not trying to provide legal advice, and I'm not asking anyone else to provide legal advice for me or to hire me or my firm. I might sometimes try to advance legal ideas, but I'm generally not trying to provide information, and in any case I make no claims, promises or guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or adequacy of the information contained in or linked to from tph-lex.com or mcfp.org. Legal advice must be tailored to the specific circumstances of each case, and laws are constantly changing, so nothing in tph-lex.com, mcfp.org or any other weblog should be used as a substitute for the advice of competent counsel. I am admitted to practice law in Colorado, and nowhere else, and I do not intend to represent anyone desiring representation in a state where this site may fail to comply with all applicable laws and ethical rules.

(Adapted from Denise Howell's comments on this point.)

Opinions expressed on this website are my own and should not be imputed to employers, colleagues, staff, co-counsel, adverse counsel, the prairie dog colony in the pasture over by Highway 287, or anyone else. Heck, opinions expressed on this website might not even be my own.

Also, posts related to law practice should not be construed to refer to my current employer or past employers. I have some critical views about the way some law firms and lawyers work, but those views don't extend to all firms or all lawyers, and it would be a mistake to assume that they extend to the firm I work for or the lawyers I work with.
